Eight black and white films of Neil Young performing songs from his new album, Le Noise, have been released on his YouTube channel. The films, which were shot by Adam CK Vollick, feature Young singing on a stool with no band or overdubs to distract the listener.
Le Noise hit the shelves on Sept. 28 and has been gaining support by critics all over the country, with The Washington Post calling it, “An angry folk album at heart, it braces Young’s stalwart folk-rock songs against a barrage of whirligig sounds usually better suited to emerging electro bands from Brooklyn.”

Neil Young has had nearly a 50-year career, so it was fitting that he won his first ever Grammy Award for Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package. The winning album, “Neil Young Archives Vol. I (1963-1972)” contains about 120 tracks from Young’s earlier days.
Young’s song “Fork in the Road” from the album of the same name received a nomination for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance; however, that honor went to Bruce Springsteen for his song “Working on a Dream.”
The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards were held on Jan. 31 at 8 pm. ET in the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. To see the complete list of winners, click here.

Neil Young’s annual benefit in San Francisco for the The Bridge School will take place this year on October 24 & 25 at Mountain View’s Shore Amphitheatere. A star-studded, albeit eclectic, lineup has been revealed by the organizers.
This year’s benefit will include performances from No Doubt, Chris Martin of Coldplay, Fleet Foxes, Monsters Of Folk, Sheryl Crow, Gavin Rossdale of Bush, Wolfmother, and appearances one night only by Jimmy Buffett and comedian Adam Sandler. Naturally Neil Young will also perform.
The event is hosted by Young and his wife Pegi, and all the proceeds help the organization educate children with severe physical disabilities and speech impairments.
